Getting to the Lodge

Location: Mpogo lodge is located in the southwestern region of Kirihura, approximately 3 hours from Uganda’s capital city Kampala, you can get us on google map using the following coordinates 0°24’30.0″S 31°04’05.1″E.

The lodge is conveniently 5mins away from the Mbarara highway. Because of such convenience and easy accessibility, our location is a suitable point for relaxation and refreshment for long-distance travelers.

Kampala to the Lodge: It’s approximately a 3-hour drive from Kampala, along the Masaka-Mbarara highway, 14 km from Lyantonde town. Get off the highway from Nyakahita trading center, on your right, there is the lodge’s signpost, then drive approximately 3 km (5 min), and you will be at the lodge.

Travel info about the Lodge

Lodge to Park Headquarters: The lodge is 45 minutes away from Lake Mburo national park via the Nshaara gate.

Total capacity: 24 guests (14 en-suite rooms), We also have camping grounds with camping facilities.

Facilities: En-suite bathrooms with showers, flush toilets, hot and cold running water.

Electricity: The standard voltage is 220 – 240 volts. The Outlets are Square 3 pin and round 2 pins. The lodge is connected to the Main Uganda Hydroelectricity but also uses Solar to provide power to guest rooms 24 hours a day.

Bar/Restaurant: The bar and restaurant are contained within the main lodge building, with a seating capacity of 25-30 guests.

Picnics: Picnics can be organized upon request.

Communication: Cell Phone coverage is good at the lodge for nearly all local telecom networks, especially “MTN” and “Airtel”.

Climate: Temperatures

Dry seasons: December to February and June to August

Wet seasons: March to May and September to November

Temperatures still warm and storms generally don’t last more than an hour

Seasons: Open throughout the year. Our rates don’t change according to seasons but they are subject to change.
